How does Price My Device work?
Here is a step-by-step guide on how you can use our service:
- Enter your device’s specifications on the form, and we will issue a speculative quote immediately.
- Fill in your personal information on the next page along with the serial number of your device and click continue.
- Once you have submitted the form, we will send you a confirmation email and a shipping label.
- Package your device securely, attach the shipping label and drop it off at FedEx. We will send you a confirmation email upon receiving the delivery.
- As soon as we receive your device, we will send you another confirmation email.
- Our technicians will inspect and appraise your device and check that it meets the standards that we quoted you on our website.
- If it matches the quote, we will notify you that your payment is being processed.
Note that, for this purpose, we use PayPal or company checks.
Can I sell locked or managed devices?
We do not buy devices that can be categorized as the following:
• iCloud Locked
• Under Device Management Software Supervision
• Part of Apple’s DEP Program
• Stolen Devices
Note: The seller will be responsible for compensation in case the device fails to unlock.
When do the sellers receive their payment?
We do our best to process the payment within 1-3 days of receiving your device. However, timing may vary depending on where you live (the further away, the longer it takes). Also, different payment methods have different processing times.
If you want your payment quickly, we suggest you use Paypal as a company cheque may take 2-6 business days. Either way, we will send you an email to confirm payment is on its way. Our customer service team is always on hand to talk you through any concerns you may have.

How do I know that I’ll get paid and paid on time?

Will I get the same amount as quoted?
If the condition of your device matches the description you gave us then yes, you will receive precisely the same amount as we quoted you. However, if the state of your device is not in line with what you told us, we will need to reconsider the quote and email you a revised one. If you’re not happy with the new price, it is your right to decline our latest offer, and we will return your device. Please note, BuyMyMac is not responsible for the shipping costs of any returns.
What happens if the item fails to fulfill your requirements?
Should this happen, we will notify the customer with a detailed explanation. We will outline what we consider to be wrong with the product and why it doesn’t match your description. In this same email, you will receive a new quote based on we consider it is worth. We pride ourselves on our honesty, integrity and fairness, but if you are not satisfied, we will return your device. Please note, BuyMyMac is not responsible for the shipping costs of any returns.
How long is my quote valid?
Your quote is valid for a maximum of 30 days. If you send your device to us after that time, we suggest you drop us a message to [email protected]

Can I use the shipping label later than the date mentioned?
Absolutely! The shipping label will not expire.
How safe is my personal information on your website?

I can’t see an option for the issue my device has on your website. What should I do?
Please use the box that specifies “additional information” if you do not see an option to describe the issue your device has. In this case, we will send you a custom quote via email.
Do you reset the device after I sell it device to you?
Most definitely! We wipe clean and restore every device we buy. However, if you have any security concerns, we recommend our customers reset their devices before sending them to us. Please follow these steps to backup iPhone and iPads:
- Back up your device to iCloud or iTunes
- Go to settings
- Select general
- Select reset
- Select ‘Erase All Content and Settings’.
Can people living outside the U.S. sell their devices to Buy My Mac?
Yes! We have customers from all over the world! Please note though, that free shipping is only available to customers who live in the U.S. If you reside anywhere else, please follow the Price My Device process, but you will need to cover the cost of shipping yourself.
What’s the process of selling multiple items?
If you have less than ten products, we ask that you fill out the Price My Device information for each one. If you have ten products or more, you will need to access our Bulk Buy Spreadsheet here. Do you buy broken items?
Mention any defects when you fill out the Price My Device form. You can also add any further details in the “Additional Information” tab. We will try and quote the device as accurately as we can but know we can’t give you a definitive price until we have your product in our hands.
If my Mac has expensive software on it, will I get a higher price?
No. We never consider software when pricing a product because we wipe clean all data as soon as we receive your device.
How do I ship my items to your company?
You will receive an email with a prepaid FedEx label that is only valid in the U.S. Print that label, securely package your item, firmly attach the label on the box you have packed your product in, and you are good to go. You can take the package to any FedEx facility. You will receive an email once your product is delivered to us. We will also dispatch an email once your product passes our quality tests.
Which methods does BuyMyMac use to send payments?
PayPal and company checks are the two most commonly used payment methods at BuyMyMac. PayPal is the quickest method because it takes just one business day to transfer the payment. Plus, we now have BuyMyMac gift cards available. We will send you your payment on a gift card, and you can use it to purchase another device on our eBay store!
Are there expedited payment options?
Yes. For instant payments, we use PayPal. We can also send a company check overnight through FedEx. Bear in mind, the latter is subjected $40 deduction from your payment for shipping cost. You can also receive the check through USPS Priority Mail. This method deducts $10 from your payment. However, please keep in mind that we do not issue payments until the products get through our quality tests.
